Citizens looking for rental housing can receive a copy of the current rentals ads for Dodge, Fillmore, Goodhue, Houston, Wabasha, and Winona Counties by calling 651-565-2638, ext. 200.

Call Centers are being established for residents and business owners to register for FEMA assistance.  Registration is necessary to start the process, and people can register by phone at 800-621-FEMA (3362).  FEMA will contact individuals about scheduling inspections of their properties.  Meanwhile, clean-up should continue, and if cameras are available, take photos.  You may also register online at www.fema.gov

People who would like to volunteer can call 507-457-8882.  Volunteers in the Winona area must register at the Underdahl Building (Huff and 2nd Street) to receive work assignments.  The Volunteer Center hours are Friday until 6 PM, Saturday and Sunday, 8 am - 8 pm. 

The Winona County Flood Relief Donation Center is now located in the Underdahl Toyota building at Huff and 2nd Streets in Winona.  Needed donations include brooms, mops, detergents, rubber gloves, shovels, garbage bags, boots, fans, duct tape, face masks, work gloves, paper towels, razors, shampoo, deodorants, first aid supplies, new socks, underwear, and bath towels, rakes, cleaning supplies, diapers, dish soaps, dust pans, etc.  The donation center is NOT accepting ANY food, clothing, or toys at this time. 

Area citizens in need of housing due to the flooding should contact the Winona County Housing Hotline at 507-454-3665.  Housing information can be picked up in person at 1756 Kraemer Drive, Winona. 

Food and clothing can be obtained from the Winona Volunteer Services located at 402 E Second Street, Winona.  Ph:  507-452-5591.  The Southern Baptist Church & Cornerstone Church have cleaning crews and are also serving food for those in need.

The Winona Area Red Cross can be contacted at 1660 Kraemer Drive.  Ph:  507-452-4258

Pets and Animal Care issues should be directed to the Humane Society at 507-452-3135.  The After-hours number is 507-452-5696.

Ready Set School is asking for donations of school supplies for area familes.  They can be dropped off in the green donation barrels at Midtown Foods,  Winona National Banks, Hy-Vee, J & K Office Products, K-Mart, Rogans Shoes, and Shopko in Winona; Wien's Food Center in Lewiston; and Hometown Variety in St. Charles.  Cash donations can be made to Ready Set School at any Winona National Bank, Altura State Bank, or mail to Ready Set School, PO Box 499, Winona, MN  55987.  Ph: 507-457-6200.

Winona Shares - The Free Store - can be viewed online at www.winonashares.org.  They have listings of free furniture or other household items that area residents can no longer use.  View their Disaster Relief Phone List for important phone numbers.
